Breakaway training provides essential skills for individuals working in environments where there is a risk of aggression or violence. It is particularly valuable for frontline staff who interact with a demanding or unpredictable public, as well as professionals supporting individuals who may become physically threatening.
This training focuses on practical, easy-to-apply techniques for safely disengaging and escaping from abusive or dangerous situations, whether in the workplace or personal life. The aim is always to protect personal safety while minimising harm to everyone involved.
Advanced physical intervention techniques may be applied in settings such as the NHS and private healthcare environments, where there is a need to safely manage potentially aggressive or vulnerable individuals. These methods are designed to ensure that control and restraint are carried out in a humane, respectful, and legally compliant manner.
When appropriate, and in accordance with relevant guidelines and risk assessments, mechanical restraints — including handcuffs and soft cuffs — may be used, particularly for clients who are considered highly vulnerable. The priority at all times is the safety, dignity, and wellbeing of both the individual and the staff involved.
We provide a comprehensive range of First Aid and Health & Safety courses, all certified by Qualsafe Awards - a leading awarding organisation in the UK.
Our training includes CitizenAID courses, available for individuals aged 14 and above, designed to empower people with the knowledge and confidence to act effectively in emergency situations.
